Friend, Daily Kos has a deep and broad reach within the progressive community. It has allowed us to raise nearly $60 million for candidates, civic community organizations, and humanitarian non-profits and recruit hundreds of thousands of volunteers for Democratic campaigns during our 22-year existence. I'm not going to lie, the next nine months are going to be an ugly political mud-slinging fight. We need to make sure that Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, along with frontline community organizations, have the resources they need to win in November. However, Daily Kos faces financial hardships, forcing us to pull back on our fundraising efforts for candidates and organizations. Two out of three of our revenue sources continually miss their projections. Grassroots donations are now our largest source of income. So instead of fundraising for future candidates and grassroots organizations that mobilize voters in their communities, we have had to pour our energy into making sure that we, as an organization, can make our own ends meet and survive these hard times. [This is the time in the election cycle that we need to start building our own infrastructure to support Democrats running for office, up and down the ballot in every corner of the country. Instead, we are focused on our own grassroots fundraising—our largest source of funding—so we can pay our bills. Can you support Daily Kos and our work with a donation of $5 today?]( [DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
