Friend, I'm deeply concerned. Despite attempting a coup to overturn the last presidential election and facing multiple indictments, Donald Trump could potentially win the next election. And it's all because the news media often overlooks his alarming, fascist rhetoric. [Sign the petition: Demand news networks stop giving Trump a pass.]( [Sign the petition]( Trump [has recently]( vowed that his next potential administration would “root out the communists, Marxists, fascists, and the radical left thugs that live like vermin within the confines of our country, that lie and steal and cheat on elections.” Major TV news networks, despite the obvious parallels to Hitler and Mussolini, have given minimal coverage to his hateful remarks. The double-standard is appalling. A Media Matters study [revealed]( that TV networks were far more likely to cover Hillary Clinton's 2016 comments about "deplorables" than Trump's recent comments about "vermin." And the problem is not just Fox News. CNN talked about “deplorables" 553 times and “vermin” just 70. On MSNBC, it was 596 to 112. We cannot be desensitized to Trump’s dangerous hate speech. We must call it for what it is and NOT ignore it as another Trump-ism. The news media made a big mistake in 2016 normalizing Trump's dangerous rhetoric, and now he has ratcheted it up to an entirely new level. [Sign the petition: Donald Trump is a fascist. The news media cannot excuse or normalize his dangerous behavior.]( [Sign the petition]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos Daily Kos needs you now more than ever We are falling behind our projections for two of our three major revenue streams: advertising and list building.
