Friend, Vital Medicaid coverage is slipping away for millions in need. Nearly 5.5 million Americans

Friend, [sign the petition to the Biden administration: Protect Medicaid access.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Vital Medicaid coverage is slipping away for millions in need. Nearly 5.5 million Americans have lost Medicaid due to red tape and technicalities like paperwork issues. As COVID cases rise again, this situation is dire. We must demand President Biden's administration step in. They have the power to identify states facing severe issues, monitor Medicaid processes, and withhold funding from states wrongly removing low-income residents. [Sign the petition to President Biden: Hold states accountable for rushing and purging millions of low-income Americans from their health insurance coverage.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Romario Brown, Daily Kos P.S. Below is an email we sent out earlier calling on the Biden administration to protect Medicaid: --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign the petition to the Biden administration: Protect Medicaid access.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Millions of low-income children, pregnant people, adults, seniors, and people with disabilities–nearly 5.5 million to date–are being or have already been purged from Medicaid. But many people are being erroneously dropped for things like not filling out paperwork. And now, COVID is on the rise again. Congress [rolled back]( a requirement that state Medicaid programs keep people continuously enrolled through the end of the public health COVID emergency. But, the overwhelming majority of people who have lost coverage in most states were dropped because of technicalities, not because state officials determined they no longer meet Medicaid income limits. This carelessness will impact millions of low-income Americans’ health care access–too many Americans are losing Medicaid coverage because of red tape. [Sign the petition to the Biden administration: Protect Medicaid access.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( President Biden’s administration can step in. The administration can publicly identify which states face the most serious issues, use their Congressionally granted power to monitor and oversee the Medicaid processes, and withhold funding from states improperly purging their low-income residents. President Biden sees the issue and has urged a slowing of the purge to avoid administrative errors. But this isn’t stopping the problem. We need action! Millions of Americans are at risk of losing coverage–it’s time to step in and protect us. [Sign the petition to President Biden: Hold states accountable for rushing and purging millions of low-income Americans from their health insurance coverage.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Erin Tulley, Daily Kos Daily Kos is powered by grassroots donors like you Donations from our readers and activists like you are our largest source of income.
