Friend, this summer has been [absolutely brutal](. If you ever needed a canary in a coal mine to warn us about climate change, this summer is it. [Please donate $1 to these 18 House Democratic nominee funds to help Democrats take back the House in 2024 and seriously combat climate change.]( [DONATE]( July was the hottest month ever on record. Phoenix had 31 consecutive days above 110 degrees. Floods swamped parts of India and Vermont, wildfires burned in Canada and the United States creating poor air quality for millions, ocean temperatures near Florida reached over 100 degrees and the Antarctic sea ice is at a historically low level for this time of year. Scientists have said that none of this would be possible without human-caused climate change. Meanwhile Republicans would prefer to keep their heads in the sand about the very reality of climate change. According to a [NPR poll,]( 70% of Republicans said climate change is either just a minor threat or no threat at all, with 72% saying the economy should be given priority, even at the risk of ignoring climate change. To top it all off, [House Majority Leader Steve Scalise]( jokes that "Only in Washington will they try to find an excuse to take something that's been going on for hundreds of years ... to promote their crazy left agenda… Southern Louisiana, it's always hot, thank God for air conditioning," laughed Scalise. Human-caused climate change is one of the most dire threats to humanity. If Republicans can't take these threats seriously, we need to elect people that will. That is why Daily Kos is partnering with ActBlue's House nominee funds to donate to Democrats running for must-win seats right now. The money donated will be held in escrow until a candidate wins the Democratic primary, at which time all the funds collected will be transferred—giving Democrats in key races a huge influx of cash right when they need it most. [Daily Kos is targeting 18 Republican members of Congress whose district Biden won in 2020. If we can flip just a handful of these seats, we can pass effective and meaningful climate change legislation. Please donate right now to help Democrats win.]( [DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
