Friend, have you heard of the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government? With Rep. Jim Jordan at the helm, the purpose of the committee is supposedly to expose officials in positions of authority who have abused their powers and used federal agencies to retaliate against their political foes—you know, what [Trump tried to do](. Really, it's payback for the Democrats' attempt to hold twice-impeached Trump accountable for his numerous misdeeds as president and to scrutinize the Biden administration. Rep. Jamie Raskin probably described the committee best when he[said]( "not because weaponization of the government is its target but because weaponization of the government is its purpose." [Please donate $1 each to these 18 House Democratic nominee funds to help Democrats take back the House in 2024.]( [DONATE]( From the very beginning, the committee has zeroed in on the Department of Justice and the FBI with Jordan claiming that there are "dozens and dozens" of [whistleblowers]( who had information of the abusive “political nature" of the institutions. So far Jordan's "whistleblowers" have proved no firsthand evidence of any wrongdoing. In fact, quite the opposite; Democrats have exposed the "whistleblowers" as themselves political hacks. In a [316-page document]( (PDF) they write "each endorses an alarming series of conspiracy theories related to the Jan. 6 Capitol attack, the Covid vaccine, and the validity of the 2020 election." Many have ties to Republican operatives and former Trump administration officials—even receiving financial help from a Trump loyalist. To date, the committee has been a waste of time and taxpayer dollars, with Jordan requesting upwards of $15 million. We need representatives in government that will actually do their job. The Republican House majority is super tiny and we can easily end this pointless, waste of resources committee "witch hunt" in 2024. There are 18 Republican members of Congress whose district Biden won in 2020, who voted to pass the Freedom Caucus' devastating budget cuts. It's time we send each and every one of them a message exactly where it hurts: Support for their Democratic challengers. Daily Kos is partnering with ActBlue's House nominee funds to donate to Democrats running for must-win seats right now. The money donated will be held in escrow until a candidate emerges from the Democratic primary, at which time all the funds collected will be transferred—giving Democrats in key races a huge influx of cash right when they need it most. [Daily Kos has identified 18 House races that we can flip from red to blue in the 2024 elections. If Democrats can win just a handful of these seats, they will take back the House and put a stop to these reckless and wasteful committees. Can you donate right now to help defeat the MAGA wing of our government?]( [DONATE]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
