Friend, [sign and send a letter to Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand and Senator Charles E. Schumer: No Senate Democrat should help confirm Donald Trump’s pick for FBI director.]( [CLICK HERE TO SEND A LETTER]( In an astounding display of complicity, every single Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee [voted]( to recommend that the Senate confirm Donald Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Christopher Wray. This happened despite [alarming statements]( from Trump that he believes the FBI Director should report directly to him and Trump's attacks on Jeff Sessions as part a pattern of intimidation and interference into the Russia investigation. Now Wray's nomination moves to the Senate floor. Trump has already fired one FBI Director for not stopping the investigation into collusion with Russia. It's unacceptable to allow him to cherry pick a new FBI Director while the agency's investigation into his Russian ties is still on-going. [Sign and send a letter to Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand and Senator Charles E. Schumer: No Senate Democrat should help confirm Donald Trump’s pick for FBI director.]( [CLICK HERE TO SEND A LETTER]( The Special Counsel investigation that Trump is desperate to terminate is being undertaken in the wake of revelations of repeated contacts between Trump's inner circle and a hostile foreign power that U.S. intelligence agencies agree meddled in the 2016 presidential election in favor of Trump. We cannot allow business as usual while Trump and multiple members of his administration are under suspicion for what may be treasonous actions. The Special Counsel's investigation seems to be moving forward. However, if Wray agreed to report directly to Trump when he accepted the nomination, then the investigation could be compromised. Republicans have already made it clear that they will fall in line with whatever Trump demands, no matter how asinine the ask. But Democrats cannot help normalize Trump's attempts to obstruct justice. We need them to resist this confirmation. [Sign and send a letter to Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand and Senator Charles E. Schumer: Vote no on Christopher Wray’s confirmation.]( [CLICK HERE TO SEND A LETTER]( Keep fighting, Monique Teal, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
