Friend, it's hard to keep track of all the different scandals affecting the U.S. Supreme Court—

Friend, it's hard to keep track of all the different scandals affecting the U.S. Supreme Court—from Clarence Thomas' [lavish trips]( by a Republican donor to his wife's blatant efforts to [overthrow the last election]( to Neil Gorsuch's [shady business deals]( to John Roberts' wife taking [money from groups]( that have business at the court and more. All we know is: the highest court in the land cannot have the lowest ethics standards. [Sign the petition: Stop the corruption! The U.S. Supreme Court must be made to follow basic ethical standards.]( [Sign the petition]( All federal judges are required to follow a [Code of Conduct](—except the Supreme Court. This lack of oversight has long been a problem that advocates have complained about for years, as the late Justice Antonin Scalia had [many conflicts of interest](. But since Scalia's death in 2016, Donald Trump and Republicans have fundamentally reshaped the Supreme Court with three appointments—who continue to attack our fundamental freedoms. From repealing Roe v. Wade to outrageous decisions on gun safety, the Supreme Court today is dangerously out of step with the American people. Now is the time to demand that the U.S. Supreme Court be made to follow ethics standards. [Sign the petition to Congress: Confidence in the U.S. Supreme Court is at an all-time low. Pass legislation requiring them to follow basic ethics standards.]( [Sign the petition]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos P.S. Below is an email we sent you about this a few weeks ago. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, recent revelations regarding potential conflicts of interest and ethical violations by Supreme Court justices have raised serious questions about the integrity of our nation's highest court. Although every other federal judge in the country is bound by a code of ethics, the nine justices of the Supreme Court are not held to the same standards. [Sign the petition to Congress: The Supreme Court must be made to follow basic ethics standards]( [Sign the petition]( A Senate Judiciary Committee [hearing]( found possible conflicts of interest, luxury gifts and real estate deals, ethics complaints, sexual assault allegations, business deals with corporations that had cases in front of the court, and more. [Justices Clarence Thomas](, [Brett Kavanaugh](, [Neil Gorsuch](, [Amy Coney Barrett](, and even [Chief Justice John Roberts](. Public trust in the Supreme Court is at an all-time low, as the court continues to issue controversial rulings that seem to go against the will of the people. It is more important than ever that we hold Supreme Court Justices accountable for their actions and ensure they adhere to the same ethical guidelines as their peers. We must restore transparency and accountability in the U.S. Supreme Court. We are calling on Congress to ensure that by passing the Supreme Court Ethics Act. [Sign the petition to Congress: Pass the Supreme Court Ethics Act.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thank you for fighting with us, Mayra Souza, Daily Kos Daily Kos needs you now more than ever We are falling behind our projections for two of our three major revenue streams: advertising and list building.
