Please give me a few moments to introduce myself and tell you why I’m running. Friend, I just announced my candidacy for New York’s 3rd Congressional District. Yes, that means I’ll be the Democrat running against George Santos. In just a moment, I’ll ask you to [add your name to our endorsements list if you believe we must defeat Santos.]( But before I do, please allow me a second to introduce myself, tell you why I’m running, and convince you that this race is both important and winnable. I’m Zak Malamed, and I was raised right here in the district and attended Great Neck Public Schools from K-12. From an early age, my family instilled three principles in me: service, struggle and sacrifice. My grandmother immigrated to New York to pursue the American dream. My grandparents struggled and sacrificed to provide opportunity for their kids in a new home. My father worked in the garment industry before it collapsed and he had to start over. My mother was an educator who turned into a caretaker when some of her closest friends fell ill to cancer. These are the people who’ve taught me everything — how to work hard, to care for others, to give back to the community that gave to you. I’ve spent the last four years campaigning and defeating MAGA extremists across the country in some of the most competitive districts and states with my organization The Next 50. Now, I’m being called to run myself and defeat George Santos so we can restore opportunity and pride in our district. Unseating George Santos isn’t just about restoring dignity to the office. It’s an important bellwether in our national fight against right-wing extremism. And, while this district might have voted Republican last year, it’s wide open now. But the Republicans will not give up easily, because NY-03 is the key to holding their majority in the House. We fully expect them to raise millions of dollars to bolster Santos. And that’s why I need you, Friend. [Will you add your name to endorse the campaign to unseat George Santos? We need to show strength in numbers early on in this campaign if we’re going to flip this seat blue — and that starts with you making your endorsement.]( [ADD YOUR NAME>>]( New York’s 3rd isn’t the same district it was when I was growing up. Home prices and rents are up. Local businesses struggle with inflation. Our neighbors feel more transience than security. Folks are rightfully angry and scared about the change. It is that frustration and fear that carried George Santos – and MAGA Republicans like him – to victory across Queens and Long Island. But MAGA extremism isn’t the answer. I haven’t given up on government’s ability to adapt to the needs of a new generation – and meet the challenges of the moment. I have lived those challenges. In Congress, I’ll be a Representative who prioritizes whatever work it takes to build a future we all can see ourselves in, because I know exactly what it’s like to look ahead and have serious doubts about what’s doable in the given circumstances. Friend, I’m running because I’m called to serve the community that gave so much to me. We can win because I know what it takes to run a competitive campaign and I’ve done it in districts all across this country. But we can only pull this off if we can gather strong grassroots support from Day One. [Please sign your name as one of Zak Malamed's early endorsers to unseat George Santos. We need tens of thousands of Democrats to unite behind our campaign if we’re going to defeat the Republicans in this key swing race.]( Before I go, I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to introduce myself and tell you about the importance of this race. I promise to fight hard to win this campaign on your behalf and for the good of all my neighbors here in New York’s 3rd. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being one of our first supporters. — Zak Malamed Candidate for NY-03 Paid for by Zak Malamed for Congress. Does not equal Daily Kos endorsement.
