Friend, should someone else's vote count more than yours? [Sign the petition: Elect the president by a national popular vote]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Over the past five elections, the victors of the popular vote defeated their competitors by an average of 5 million votes–even though some of those victors did not win the presidency. This discrepancy showcases the inherent flaws of our current state-by-state Electoral College system. Furthermore, the existing system poses a growing risk to the peaceful transfer of power. The incredibly narrow margins in swing states may incite post-election recounts, audits, lawsuits, and even attempted coups. [Sign the petition: Elect the president by a national popular vote]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( If enough states agree to assign their Electoral College electors to the winner of the national popular vote in presidential races rather than the state’s popular vote -- we can guarantee the presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes nationwide without needing to amend the Constitution. So far, fifteen states and D.C. have already signed on, totaling 195 Electoral College votes out of the 270 needed to secure a national popular vote victory. With enough states on board, we can ensure America never again elects a president who loses the national popular vote.
