Friend, Justice Clarence Thomas accepted thousands of dollars in lavish vacations from a [Hitler artifact-collecting GOP donor](. Beyond being troubling and vile, it could also have likely broken the law. [Sign the petition: Impeach Justice Clarence Thomas.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Justice Thomas is bound by [law]( to disclose these compromising gifts. He did not. We’ve known Clarence Thomas is corrupt for many years, but this takes his corruption to an entirely new level. It is obvious that Justice Thomas is shameless and will not do the right thing by resigning. He must be impeached in order to restore integrity in the Supreme Court. [Sign the petition: Justice Clarence Thomas is riddled with conflicts of interest. He must be impeached.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Erin Tulley, Daily Kos P.S. Below is an email we sent out earlier calling for Thomas’ impeachment: --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has another ethics problem, and this time, despite the near-total lack of binding ethics rules applying to the Supreme Court, he may have actually broken a law. [Sign the petition: Impeach Justice Clarence Thomas.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( A ProPublica investigation has [revealed]( that Thomas has been accepting lavish vacations from Republican real estate billionaire Harlan Crow for more than two decades. Outrageously, the Supreme Court is not bound by the code of conduct that requires other federal judges to avoid even the “appearance of impropriety.” However, it is bound by a law requiring the disclosure of gifts over $415—and Thomas’ flights on a Crow’s private jet, vacations on his 162-foot yacht, and annual stays in his private resort likely violate the disclosure requirements. [Sign the petition: Impeach Justice Clarence Thomas.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Thomas has a litany of potential conflicts of interest, many of which involve his wife, Ginni. For example: - While Ginni [advocated]( for the overthrow of the government, Thomas continued to rule on Supreme Court cases directly related to the insurrection. - Thomas joined the majority in Bush v. Gore, handing the presidency to George W. Bush while his wife was [actively aiding]( Bush’s transition team. - In 2012, he participated in the first challenge to the Affordable Care Act even though his wife was being paid to [seek its repeal](. Those are only a handful of examples of Thomas influencing the course of history despite clear ethical concerns. We cannot allow this extraordinary display of corruption and lawbreaking to go unanswered. He must be impeached immediately.
