Hey, here's the thing: Trumpcare isn't dead yet. Yes, forcing Mitch McConnell to delay the Senate was a huge victory. It means that GOP senators will spend their entire July 4 recess facing angry constituents, which will hopefully further repel them from this toxic dumpster fire of a "healthcare" bill. But: - Almost immediately after news broke that McConnell was delaying the vote, GOP senators started shopping around amendments that would earn their support, and get McConnell the votes he needs to turn this $@!# sandwich into law - Right-wingers like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul—both of whom had refused to back McConnell's bill last week because it wasn't despicable enough for them—are suddenly making with happy talk about healthcare repeal - And so-called "moderate" Republicans like Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski are pushing amendments that could earn their votes too Here's what this means: The GOP could come back from this recess in a stronger position to pass Trumpcare than people realize, so we need to ratchet up the pressure on Republican senators every way we can. Three Republican senators up for re-election next year could make or break Trumpcare. [Can you chip in $1 right now to each of the Democratic nominee funds targeting vulnerable Senate Republicans who could pass Trumpcare into law?]( Republicans have a slim 52-48 majority in the Senate. With Trump lapdog—I mean, Vice President—Mike Pence on deck to break any tie votes in the Senate, Mitch McConnell can only lose two GOP votes and still pass the bill. If Mitch McConnell loses three GOP votes, Trumpcare is dead. And Democrats need to win three seats to take the majority in 2018. With McConnell looking to make any deal it takes to pass Trumpcare, we can't afford to wait till 2018 to make the GOP feel the pain that this bill will bring them. We need to punish them now. That's why we've set up special Democratic Nominee Funds on ActBlue. Every dollar you contribute to a Democratic Nominee fund on this page will be transferred to the Democratic nominee when they win their primary next year. That means that every dollar will go directly beating Mitch McConnell's majority and taking back the Senate. [Please chip in to take back the Senate.]( Keep fighting, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
