Friend, in just a few days, New York Republican Congressman-elect George Santos is expected to take the oath of office, despite a disturbing and seemingly [endless list of lies]( about his background, history, and finances. [Sign the petition: Investigate George Santos.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( After a bombshell report from the New York Times, Santos finally [admitted]( that he lied throughout his campaign, willfully deceiving voters. Still, the more we learn, the more alarming his deception becomes. - How does he make money? According to official filings, Santos loaned his campaign at least $580,000 during his 2022 run and nearly $80,000 during his 2020 run. It's clear now that he doesn't have any substantial assets, family wealth, or even a job. So where did the money come from? - Is he facing criminal charges in Brazil? He was charged with check fraud in Rio de Janeiro. He reportedly failed to respond to an official summons, and the case remains unresolved. - Who even is he? He claims to be a descendant of Jewish Holocaust survivors, to be married to a man, to be "the embodiment of the American Dream" and yet, report after report throws all of that into question. He seems to have fabricated a fictional character in order to defraud voters and the United States government. Santos is, at best, an unrepentant liar who cannot be trusted. At worst, he could be a threat to our nation. Either way, we can't trust him. It's time for the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Justice Dept., and once he is seated, the House Ethics Committee to fully investigate his lies.
