Friend, [Rep. Lauren Boebert's]( number one fan, Russian TV, praised her for neither standing nor applauding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his address to Congress. Rep. Matt Gaetz and Fox News' Tucker Carlson got an honorable mention by the Russian state-controlled news network for dissing Ukraine's leader. This was shortly after [Marjorie Taylor Greene]( said that if she planned the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the insurrections would have succeeded. These are just a few of the people that will now sit in the majority of the House. In a matter of days, Republicans will control the House and some of their most deplorable lawmakers will hold leadership positions. Even worse, with their leadership and committee positions, the already inflated right-wing media will give them an even louder megaphone to spread their lies, misinformation, disinformation, and conspiracy theories. With the coming Congressional session, Daily Kos staff will have to work overtime to debunk the Republican lies and expose the truth. Unfortunately, the big problem is that right-wing news media dwarfs progressive news outlets, with a huge reach and influence over the American population. Fox News has been the highest rated cable news outlet for years, with Russian-sympathizer Tucker Carlson having the top show. [Daily Kos is one of the biggest progressive news outlets in the country, but we need to be much, much bigger in order to more effectively debunk right-wing lies. That's why I'm asking you to donate $5 a month to Daily Kos.]( [I understand if you can't commit to giving monthly, please consider making a one-time donation of $5 to support our work.]( Thank you for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
