Friend, confidence in the Supreme Court is at an [all-time low](because of its ethical lapses, corruption, and political rulings that consistently go against the rule of law and the will of the people. The court has made many questionable rulings in the recent past that highlight its bias by striking down abortion rights, voting rights protections, common-sense state and local gun regulations, federal efforts to combat climate change, and more. [Sign the petition: The U.S. Senate must investigate corruption and ethical lapses at the Supreme Court.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( Right-wing extremists have worked to influence these rulings. Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito all met with representatives of a [right-wing group lobbying]( to influence the court's decisions -- and Justice Samuel Alito may have leaked confidential information about the infamous Hobby Lobby case to the groups' wealthy donors before the final opinion was released. And that's just the beginning of the corruption in our nation's highest court. Justice Amy Coney Barrett sat for [oral arguments]( in a case being litigated by an organization that has paid her for at least five speaking engagements since 2011. Justices Alito and Brett Kavanaugh met with the[head of an anti-LGBTQ group]( that had filed a brief in a case where the court had recently heard oral arguments. Those are just a few examples of Supreme Court justices abusing their power. The House Judiciary Committee held a critical hearing on Thursday, December 8th, to investigate recent allegations of misconduct at the Supreme Court. Now, we need the U.S. Senate to continue this investigation and protect our federal judiciary from abuse. It is long past time for the justices to be held accountable -- and that can begin with a full investigation by the U.S. Senate into ethical lapses and accusations of corruption at the Supreme Court.
