Friend, [sign the petition to the Senate Judiciary Committee: Immediately investigate Justice Alito and the alleged Hobby Lobby decision leak](. [SIGN THE PETITION]( As days turn into weeks since the New York Times published its bombshell report about Alito allegedly leaking the Hobby Lobby decision to prominent anti-abortion activists, pressure is mounting on the Senate Judiciary Committee to launch an investigation. Alito’s alleged Hobby Lobby disclosure is just the latest grave ethical concern regarding a Supreme Court justice. Our nation’s highest court is growing more corrupt by the day, and it’s not just because of case leaks. Ginni Thomas’ involvement in pushing for the overturn of the 2020 presidential election results and Clarence Thomas’ rulings on cases regarding the insurrection are prime examples of ethical misconduct. Congress must use its authority to hold justices responsible for these abuses of power and ethical violations. Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, and Rep. Hank Johnson have already promised to take action, but we can’t afford any more delays. We demand accountability now. [Sign the petition to the Senate Judiciary Committee: Immediately investigate Justice Alito and the alleged Hobby Lobby decision leak.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos P.S. Below, you can read an email with more information about the alleged Hobby Lobby leak. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign the petition to the Senate Judiciary Committee: Immediately investigate Justice Alito and the alleged Hobby Lobby decision leak](. [SIGN THE PETITION]( On November 19, the New York Times broke the [news]( that eight years before the Supreme Court leak of the overturn of Roe v. Wade, another major reproductive rights decision was leaked to key conservative activists before the opinion was made public. In a letter to Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, former anti-abortion advocate Robert Schenk [alleged]( that Justice Samuel Alito divulged the outcome of birth control case Burwell v. Hobby Lobby to a donor of Schenk’s Capitol Hill evangelical nonprofit, Faith and Action, before the decision was released. Schenk claimed to use that insider information to prepare a public response to the decision, and also said he informed the CEO of Hobby Lobby that the company would win its case just days before the decision came down. [Sign the petition to the Senate Judiciary Committee: Immediately investigate Justice Alito and the alleged Hobby Lobby decision leak.]( [SIGN THE PETITION]( If Schenk’s claims are true, the Supreme Court is even more corrupt than we already knew. Ethics violations continue to pile up at the door of the court with zero accountability. And regardless of whether Alito leaked the decision, the [fact]( remains that ultra-religious, extremist donors and organizations lead the court’s most conservative justices around by their purse strings. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin [announced]( that the committee will be reviewing the allegations. This is a good start, but the gravity of the situation demands attention immediately. Our senators must act with urgency and launch a full investigation without delay, including witness testimony from whistleblower Robert Schenk.
