Friend, [sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators: Confirm Dale Ho to the Southern District of New York](. [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( For months, many of President Biden’s nominees have been waiting on full Senate action so they can be confirmed and seated on the federal bench. Now that Congress is in its lame duck session, processing those dozens of nominees must be a top priority before the end of term. [Dale Ho](, nominee for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, has been stalled in the Senate for nearly a year. In January 2022, his hearing in the Senate Judiciary Committee resulted in a tie vote, requiring the full Senate to vote on a discharge motion before a final confirmation vote. Neither have happened yet. [Sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators: No more delays. Confirm Dale Ho to the Southern District of New York.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Ho is eminently qualified to serve on the federal bench and has dedicated his career to advancing civil and human rights, particularly voting rights. He has led the ACLU Voting Rights Project since 2013 and successfully litigated gerrymandering cases in Maryland and argued against discriminatory voting restrictions in North Carolina. Ho also successfully challenged the Trump administration’s attempt to add a citizenship question to the census before the Supreme Court. Ho also reflects Biden’s commitment to create a more representative judiciary. He is a second-generation Filipino and would be the only Asian American Pacific Islander man sitting on the Southern District of New York, one of the nation’s most populated and diverse regions. If we seek a more united future, achieving a judicial bench that represents the entire country is crucial. We cannot delay Ho’s confirmation—or that of any nominee who has been waiting on Senate action—any longer. Ensuring we have full, fair courts that reflect the communities they serve is paramount for our shared goals of equal justice, civil rights, and a stronger democracy.
