Friend, Trump's treason advisor, Steve Bannon has been sentenced to four months in prison for ignoring a Congressional subpoena. Could this be Trump's fate too? Possibly, but really it depends on who controls the House after the November elections. [Trump and his cronies will never be held responsible for their attempted coup if Republicans gain control of Congress. That's why I am asking you to help protect our democracy by donating $1 to these Democratic candidates fighting flip Republican seats in the House.]( [DONATE]( The January 6 committee has officially issued a subpoena compelling Trump to testify and provide documents related to his attempted coup. As with most of his legal problems, we can expect a prolonged battle in the courts. Unfortunately, time is not on our side. A congressional subpoena can only be enforced through the life of that Congress, which we are facing the end of in a matter of months. That means if Republicans gain control of the House in November, the legal effort to enforce the subpoena would likely come to a screeching halt. [This is why Daily Kos has endorsed 12 candidates running to FLIP vulnerable Republican-held seats from red to blue. If we win these 12 races, we win the House. Well, that depends a lot on who controls the House after the November elections. [Daily Kos has endorsed 12 candidates running to FLIP vulnerable Republican-held seats from red to blue. If we win these 12 races, we win the House. Please donate $1 to each of these progressive candidates.]( [DONATE]( The January 6 committee has laid out a roadmap for the Department of Justice to continue the investigation and prosecute those responsible for the deadly insurrection. However if Republicans take control of the House, the investigation into the attempted coup would come to a screeching halt: - We can expect a circus of meaningless revenge hearings and investigations. At the top on the list is Attorney General [Merrick Garland](. Why? Simply for doing his job and investigating potential crimes committed by Trump. - Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert have already floated the idea of [defunding]( the DOJ and the FBI so they no longer have the resources to investigate and prosecute Trump. - The GOP could reinstate the [Holman Rule](; an obscure rule would allow Republicans to use spending bills to try to slash the salary of specific federal officials or eliminate blocks of federal employees, and thus specific programs, allowing Republicans to target individuals they deem as threats to Trump. - As for that [historic subpoena]( the January 6 committee unanimously voted to issue to Trump: It is likely that Trump will do everything possible not to comply with the subpoena. He will tie up the courts with appeals and ride out the clock in hopes that Republicans gain control of the House. Once in power, Republicans can withdraw the subpoena.
