Friend, we've witnessed how, when D.C. Republicans fail to shape America into their extremist utopia

Friend, we've witnessed how, when D.C. Republicans fail to shape America into their extremist utopia, GOP-controlled state legislatures take up the mantle and push through regressive legislation state by state: voter suppression, abortion restrictions and bans, attacks on school children and educators for telling the truth about our history, and more. When Trump failed to win re-election, he pressured Republican-led state legislatures to do his bidding. Now, more than 700 MAGA-bots, including actual January 6 attackers on our nation's capital, are [running]( in state house elections, spelling real trouble for our democracy. [This year, Daily Kos has identified and endorsed a strong slate of Democratic candidates that can help us flip two major swing states blue. Please donate $1 to each of these candidates in Pennsylvania and Michigan and help us preserve our democracy and election integrity.]( [DONATE]( Right-wing extremists have sunk their teeth deep into Pennsylvania and Michigan elections. More than one-third of new GOP candidates in Michigan either attended the January 6 insurrection or actively worked to overturn 2020 election results. Pennsylvania Republicans are not only backing a charlatan U.S. Senate candidate and an insurrectionist governor, but they are also running dozens of election deniers for state house seats. Daily Kos Political Director David Nir sums it up like this: Republicans failed to steal the last election, but 2020 was only a dry run. They’ve been refining their approach and they will steal the next one if we don’t stop them. Winning the state houses in Michigan and Pennsylvania would provide our democracy with a key bulwark against that terrifying prospect. If this sounds alarming friend, that's because I'm alarmed. I am witnessing a political climate that I've only ever read about in history. I want to pass good laws to protect good, working families in America, regardless of race, sexuality, wealth, or health. I want to protect all who are vulnerable when the obscenely wealthy rule. But none of that is possible if we lose the fundamental right to have each of our voices heard and votes counted. [Help us defend our democracy from sabotage by right-wing extremists. Donate $1 to each of these Daily Kos-endorsed candidates in crucial swing states.]( [DONATE]( Keep fighting, Irna Landrum, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
