Friend, everyone knows how badly we need to hold the Senate. But we cannot, absolutely cannot, forget about the House. Imagine how awful it would be to keep our Senate majority—or even elect enough Democrats willing to curtail the filibuster—yet simultaneously lose control of the House. Joe Biden’s agenda would grind to a halt just as surely as if we’d lost both chambers, and Republicans would be able to take the debt ceiling hostage and threaten to blow up the entire economy. They’d probably do it this time, too. That’s why Daily Kos is endorsing a dozen candidates seeking to pick up seats across the nation—seats that are either currently held by the GOP or are brand-new seats created as a result of the once-a-decade congressional reapportionment process. Sometimes, the best defense is simply a good offense. [Can you donate $1 or even $10 to each of these fantastic Democratic candidates who are working so hard to pick up House seats and protect our majority?]( [DONATE]( Yes, Democrats are heading into a difficult midterm protecting a very narrow majority in the House. The GOP needs to flip just five seats to take control, and we're defending a lot of vulnerable members. But that's only part of the story. Thanks to Republicans nominating a string of bizarre candidates, the continued defection of suburban voters from the GOP, and a few wily Democratic successes in redistricting, there's a whole host of districts where Democrats can go on offense and turn seats from red to blue. And we haven’t even mentioned the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which has exposed Republicans—who’d rather stay silent on the issue—as anti-abortion extremists determined to extinguish the rights of millions of women. But the outpouring of passion and energy we’ve seen since Dobbs is not, on its own, enough to overcome the usual midterm doldrums. Each of these Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats needs sufficient resources to harness this enthusiasm, connect directly with voters, and ensure they turn out to vote. That’s where we come in. For small-dollar grassroots donors looking to have an impact, this is the place. House campaigns cost far, far less than Senate races, and challengers invariably don't have access to the kinds of resources that incumbents do. Together, we can make up that shortfall and ensure these candidates have the funds they need to get out the vote and combat Republican lies. Time is running short, however. Election Day is just five weeks away. We must act now. The future of our country depends on it. [Let’s make sure we keep both chambers of Congress. Please donate $1—or how about $10?—to each of these Democrats fighting to win seats in the House!]( [DONATE]( Thank you, David Nir, Political Director Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
