Friend, Michigan is on the precipice of huge change. Michiganders have the chance to [flip]( the state legislature blue for the first time in 40 years. Whenever Trump, McConnell, or any other right wing extremist in federal government failed to push their will down our throats, GOP-controlled state legislatures have taken up the mantle and passed regressive voter suppression, anti-abortion, transphobic, and racist laws. They have advanced a reactionary and prejudiced agenda state by state. But the tide is turning in Michigan. Voters stand a good chance of flipping the Michigan state Senate for the first time since 1984! This would give Democrats one more sorely needed state legislature, and build momentum nationwide for more state-based organizing and policy battles. [Daily Kos has partnered with six Michigan-based organizations who refuse to give their state over to extremists. Please donate $7 to grassroots organizing, voter education, and get out the vote to flip Michigan's state government blue.]( [DONATE]( This is a huge election cycle in Michigan. Despite the potential for victory in the state legislature, Trump-endorsed election deniers are running up and down the ballot, ready to wreak havoc on the Great Lakes State. Secretary of state candidate Kristina Karamo has rejected the election results of 2020, despite 200 audits confirming returns in Michigan. If elected, Karamo will [prioritize]( "election security" (read: make voting harder and less accessible) and investigations into all accusations of "election fraud," no matter how baseless. She cannot be allowed to administer elections. Attorney general candidate Matt DePerno said Plan B should be [banned](, and treated with the same severity as fentanyl being smuggled across the border. Moments earlier he hadn't even heard of Plan B. Republicans are already throwing every brick they can at reproductive rights. We don't need another ignorant, misinformed GOP operative abusing the law to follow suit. [Our partners on the ground in Michigan know what it takes to win. They are running successful, underfunded operations to educate and mobilize voters in November. Expand their reach by donating $7 to these incredible grassroots organizations.]( [DONATE]( Keep fighting, Irna Landrum, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
