Friend, as President Biden in his primetime speech on September 1, American democracy is not guarant

Friend, as President Biden [said]( in his primetime speech on September 1, American democracy is not guaranteed. Biden’s words ring particularly true with the midterm elections just two short months away. If we don’t work together to protect and defend our democracy, Republicans will continue to chip away at it in the pursuit of an extremist agenda—Republicans like Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate Mehmet Oz. If you had told me ten years ago that Dr. Oz would be the Republican U.S. Senate candidate for Pennsylvania, I wouldn’t have believed you. But Trump flung the door wide open for anyone with an ego big enough to fill Washington D.C. to run for office—and, sometimes, win. [We can’t let that happen this time. Click here to donate $5 to Pennsylvania organizations working to empower and mobilize voters in frontline communities.]( [CLICK TO DONATE]( Oz has given us a crystal clear view into how he would disgrace the Senate with his presence. In addition to his standard drivel and elitism, Oz recently [changed]( his public opinion on abortion just to gain votes. He also disgustingly and falsely [claimed]( that two men who work on John Fetterman’s campaign who were wrongfully incarcerated for over two decades are murderers. This particular brand of right-wing extremism threatens democracy at its core. Peddling lies upon endless lies has a real impact on what, and who, people believe. We can’t discount people like Oz just because we know his claims are absurd—all we need to do is take one look at January 6 to see the inherent risk in electing people like him. [Friend, you can help our partners in Pennsylvania make a difference in this election. Click here to donate an amount that is meaningful to you to help register, educate, and turn out voters and counter attacks on our democracy.]( [CLICK TO DONATE]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
