Friend, North Carolina has a history of suppressing Black voters with and drawing districts so blata

Friend, North Carolina has a history of suppressing Black voters with ["surgical precision"]( and drawing districts so blatantly gerrymandered the maps have been thrown out. Now, the extremist state legislature is [peddling]( Trump's theory that states can regulate federal elections without oversight from the courts. North Carolina is poised to wreak electoral chaos in the United States if right wing extremist legislators get their way in court. The best ammunition we have is a people-powered movement to the polls to oust Trump loyalists from state, local, and federal government, and elect champions who will defend–not dismantle–our constitutional rights and confirm judges with integrity to do the same. [Daily Kos has identified eight local organizations on the frontlines of the communities being attacked by North Carolina's GOP legislators. Please give us a fighting chance to win big in North Carolina and donate $1 to each of these powerful, community-led organizations who are on the ground and have strong track records of voter engagement and voter turnout.]( [DONATE]( The 2022 midterm elections will have grave consequences for our ailing democracy and our civil and human rights. We've seen the devastation that's possible when hate-filled lawmakers and partisan judges go unchecked. We've seen how hard it is to right the ship with only the slimmest majorities in Congress. We cannot cede more ground to these hatemongers. North Carolina is a make-or-break state for us, Friend. State Supreme Court Justice Cheri Beasley's campaign for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina is a must-win for Democrats in order to maintain control of the Senate, and thus our ability to pass legislation and confirm judges. If we win in North Carolina, we can beat back these attacks on our rights. We can continue to win critical investments in our communities. We can codify Roe v. Wade, and protect marriage equality. We just need to get like-minded people to the polls in droves, despite the barriers erected in their path. [These eight North Carolina organizations can help seal our path to victory in the 2022 midterm elections. We must ensure they have the resources they need to get OUR people to the polls. Please donate $1 to each org and shore up our freedoms.]( [DONATE]( Keep fighting, Irna Landrum, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
