Election Day is less than 90 days away, friend, and working to elect Democratic candidates up and do

Election Day is less than 90 days away, friend, and working to elect Democratic candidates up and down the ballot is our top priority between now and then. This won't be a quick or easy task, but Daily Kos is committed to running our biggest Get Out The Vote (GOTV) operation ever, so I want to give you a quick update on where we are right now, specifically with regard to the three biggest parts of our program: - Vote Forward is the most popular GOTV action in Daily Kos history. When you set up an account, you "adopt" a number of voters in a swing state or congressional district. On your own time, you write personalized letters to these voters—explaining why we need them in November. At a pre-arranged date in October, you drop all the letters in the mailbox. Studies show that these letters are highly effective at getting Democratic voters to the polls. In 2020, Daily Kos volunteers mailed 1.7 million of these letters–a number we aim to repeat this year - Power the Polls is a coalition of groups working to recruit new poll workers in key areas. This is hugely important, as the Republican Party has [revealed]( that its main strategy for November is to install right-wing election deniers as poll workers in key districts to sow maximum confusion and doubt in this fall's election. We have already signed up over 10,000 volunteers to be poll workers this year alone. - Postcards to Swing States gets volunteers to send quick, encouraging, poll-tested "please vote'' messages to irregular, but Democratic-leaning, voters in key Senate swing states and crucial congressional districts. This has been an exceedingly popular program in 2022, with organizers regularly telling us to hold off signing up more volunteers so they can keep up with demand. Already, Daily Kos volunteers have ordered more than 2.5 million of these postcards! GOTV recruitment has been strong, with 26,595 unique volunteers signing up so far—and we're just getting started. Our programs are highly scalable, and with your help we can execute the biggest Daily Kos GOTV program ever—and we'll need to if we're going to put Democrats over the top this fall. [That's why I'm asking you to donate $5 right now to support Daily Kos GOTV programs this fall.]( [DONATE]( Thank you, Chris Bowers, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
