Friend, [sign and send the petition to your Democratic U.S. senators: End recess early and confirm judicial nominees](. [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( On August 8, the U.S. Senate began their four-week-long summer recess. Midterm elections are right around the corner and senators can’t afford to spend time away from Congress. There are currently [60]( Biden nominees awaiting confirmation—and that doesn’t take into account the [63]( judicial vacancies without a nominee. Our senators have a duty to process President Biden’s judicial nominees, but they won’t be able to do so if they face Republican obstruction. If they wait until after recess and push some confirmations until after the midterm elections, we may have lost our razor-thin 50-vote Democratic majority. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic U.S. senators: End recess early and confirm judicial nominees.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( The Senate needs to make a serious commitment to pick up the pace, but as of August 10, nominees have been waiting an average of 90 days to be confirmed, a number that will only continue to rise as recess stretches on. Senators must end recess early and get to work confirming judicial nominees. After the election, it’s anybody’s guess what kind of shenanigans Republicans will try to pull. The only course of action now is for Democrats to work together to return from recess and process nominees before it’s too late. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic U.S. senators: President Biden’s judicial nominees are awaiting confirmation. End summer recess early to confirm them before the midterms.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos Daily Kos Relies on Readers Like You We don't have billionaire backers like some right-wing media outlets.
