Friend, [sign and send to your U.S. senators: Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court to expand representation.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Thurgood Marshall was the first African American nominated to be an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court. He spent his life fighting for equal treatment under the law, dismantling racial segregation, and the dignity of all mankind. President Bush’s nomination of Clarence Thomas, who is one of the most conservative justices on the court, to fill the seat of Justice Marshall, was a slap in the face to Thurgood Marshall and his legacy of civil rights. For over 30 years, the Black community has been without a progressive voice on the nation’s highest court in the land. We can change that by encouraging our U.S. senators to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson immediately. [Sign and send to your U.S. senators: Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court to expand representation.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( President Biden’s historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court is nothing short of extraordinary. She would be the first justice on the Supreme Court to have also served as a public defender, bringing with her a new perspective that is dearly needed. Her credentials are unmatched: 2x Harvard grad, former law clerk for Justice Stephen Breyer, and Vice Chair of the Sentencing Commission, among many other accomplishments. What the nomination of Judge Jackson represents to young Black children all over the country cannot fit into words. We know that representation matters. Judge Jackson has the experience and it’s time that we give her a fair hearing and confirm her expeditiously.
