Friend, Jelani Day was a graduate student at Illinois State University who disappeared on August 24th. His car was found with no license plates or keys several days after he was reported missing. Ten days after disappearing, Jelani’s body was found face down in the Illinois River, about 60 miles from his campus in a town where less than 1 percent of the population is Black.
