The time has come to change the Senate rules to protect our democracy ------------------------------

The time has come to change the Senate rules to protect our democracy [Add your name now to Maggie Hassan’s petition to protect our democracy.]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Folks, Two weeks ago I spoke on the Senate floor about the systematic undermining of our elections, and in turn, our democracy, and I wanted to share that message with you. Across the country, partisan politicians are attacking the sacred American right of free, fair, and impartially administered elections. In Georgia, a new law enabled the legislature to seize control of the State Election Board, allowing elected legislators to install a partisan majority beholden to the legislature, with the ability to suspend and replace local election officials. And in Arizona, legislators have proposed a bill that would enable the state legislature to override an election certification with a simple majority vote. These partisan efforts are a direct attack on the integrity of our election system, threatening individual liberty, stability, and – most alarmingly – our very democracy. We can no longer stand by as extreme politicians systematically undermine our elections. Congress has a responsibility to act. The time has come for us to change the Senate rules to allow an up-or-down, majority vote to pass laws that will protect American democracy. We can stop this threat to our democracy, but we must act now before it's too late. [Will you join me in this fight by adding your name in support of protecting our democracy and the right to vote?]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( Our country as we know it depends on free, fair, and impartially administered elections. Every aspect of our society, from our schools to our economy, to our national security, depends on us protecting the foundation of our beloved democracy. It’s time to change the Senate rules and pass legislation to uphold the integrity of our elections. Our country, and our democracy, depend on it. Thank you for taking action. With every good wish, Maggie Hassan Paid for by Maggie Hassan for New Hampshire. Does not equal endorsement. Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
