EPA must hear from Moms that we want strong methane protections. -----------------------------------

EPA must hear from Moms that we want strong methane protections. [Sign Moms Clean Air Force's petition and tell EPA to finalize the strongest and most comprehensive methane rules to protect children’s health from all sources of oil and gas methane pollution. >>]( [SIGN NOW]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear friend, Moms are on the front lines of the fight to cut methane pollution from the oil and gas industry because cutting methane is one of the fastest ways to improve air quality and fight climate change. For 10 years, we have sounded the alarm about this potent climate pollutant in our communities and with our legislators. We've advocated for the strongest possible protections from methane pollution at the state and federal levels. We keep showing up — and this week was no different. This week, dozens of moms from across the country spoke with EPA at a virtual public hearing to call on the agency to slash methane pollution from the oil and gas industry. It's not too late to add your voice to the chorus. [Add your name and demand the EPA finalize strong methane regulations. >>]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( Methane emissions are a major source of harmful climate pollution, responsible for 25% of the global warming we're experiencing today. Plus, the pollutants that accompany methane emissions from oil and gas operations pose major health risks to our families. I grew up in New Mexico and now live in Albuquerque with my eight-year-old daughter. I'm seeing the effects of climate change in our state firsthand — intense drought, longer wildfire seasons, oppressive heat waves — and I am deeply concerned that the home my daughter is growing up in is already very different from the home of my childhood. Summers in Albuquerque used to be a time for playing outdoors, but now I often have to keep my daughter inside. Extreme heat, pollution from wildfires in neighboring states, plus climate impacts from New Mexico's significant oil and gas industry are making the air outside dangerous to breathe, especially for my daughter's developing lungs. The reality is that we are all impacted by methane pollution that does not respect state boundaries. It is in the air, the wind, and it spreads. If we don't act now, it will be too late. Tell EPA we have to make a change now, before this becomes the new normal. Parents know we need strong federal regulations that set essential baseline protections from methane pollution for all children. We know cutting methane pollution is one of the fastest ways we can reduce the impacts of climate change worldwide and also improve air quality and public health in our own communities. [Join me and moms across the country in urging EPA to finalize the most comprehensive methane rule — so that our children can safely play outside. >>]( [SIGN NOW]( For our children's health, Celerah Hewes Project Manager for Campaigns, Moms Clean Air Force Paid for by Moms Clean Air Force. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
