Friend, [sign and send the petition: Senate recess can wait. Our voting rights cannot!]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( The looming threat to our freedom to vote is evident. Literally hundreds of voter suppression laws have been introduced in state legislatures, while relief through federal voting rights protections has been stalled again and again. With the U.S. Senate scheduled to go into recess on December 13, we don't have much time for senators to finally deliver on promises to protect, defend, and expand our freedom to vote. It is far past time that Congress secure fair and free elections, make sure we are ALL fairly represented in Congress no matter where we live or what we look like, and make it much harder for billionaires to hold politicians in their pockets. [Sign and send this petition to the U.S. Senate: Our freedom to vote MUST come before Senate vacation!]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Several key Democrats have been holding out hope for a bipartisan agreement on voting rights, but Republicans have made it clear that there is no compromise they are willing to accept. It's time to move on without them, come hell or high water, and protect our voting rights. Besides attacks on our freedom to vote, Republicans have attacked reproductive choice, blocked critical investments in care, our climate emergency, health care, and more. The GOP also knows they can't hold up progress if they don't get into office, and the only way they get elected is by erecting unnecessary barriers to voting, gerrymandering voting districts, and buying elections with corporate dark money. With Republicans in charge, we needlessly lost hundreds of thousands of American lives to COVID, used federal force against local protesters, and faced horrific blows to decades of progressive policy wins. We CAN elect leaders who have our interests at heart, we can open the door for more diverse and accurate congressional representation, and show genuine care for ALL families in America. [In order to build the government we want and deserve, we must protect our freedom to vote. Sign and send the petition to the U.S. Senate: Enough is enough! Pass voting rights legislation NOW!]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Keep fighting, Irna Landrum, Daily Kos Daily Kos Relies on Readers Like You We don't have billionaire backers like some right-wing media outlets.
