Friend, we will not stop until we ensure Congress meets our demands. Join us in urging Congress to fight for child, elderly, and family care by keeping the Build Back Better Act intact. [Sign and send the petition to Congress: Invest in the care economy. We cannot leave caregivers and paid family and medical leave out of the Build Back Better Act.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( It is no secret that the U.S. has ignored the dire need for child care and early education assistance -- in fact, we rank so low that it is staggering. And yet, Congress still cannot seem to address this crisis with meaningful legislation. Meanwhile, in-fighting among some staunchly conservative Democrats threatens to derail the progress we are making to address the care economy within the Build Back Better Act. This is where you come in, Friend. We need your help to ensure Congress hears us: STOP! Care economy is vital and we will not let you budge! [Sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators and representative: Pass the Build Back Better Act with investments for the care economy intact.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Thanks for all you do, Erin Tulley, Daily Kos P.S. Below is an email we sent out earlier demanding the Congress keep the Build Back Better Act intact: --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign and send the petition to Congress: Invest in the care economy. We cannot leave caregivers and paid family and medical leave out of the Build Back Better Act.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Negotiations are still ongoing for the Build Back Better Act, once-in-a-lifetime legislation that would make investments in child and elder care, combating the climate crisis, expanding Medicare, paths to citizenship, and so much more. While Republicans obstruct the road to passing the Build Back Better act at [every turn possible](, we have the opportunity to contact our members of Congress each day until the Build Back Better Act is finalized to encourage them to hold fast and refuse to cave to corporate lobbyists aiming to water the bill down. The care economy is usually overlooked and undervalued, leaving child, elder, and disability care workers without the pay and resources they need to be able to take care of their own families while they continue to ensure ours are safe, fed, and healthy. We cannot squander our chance to right this wrong in the Build Back Better Act. [Sign and send the petition: Caregivers and the care economy are essential for all of us to thrive. They must be essential in the Build Back Better Act, too.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( When we think about infrastructure, most of us probably think about things like roads and bridges and fixing the potholes we hit every day on the way to work or day care or school. But filling in those potholes will be meaningless if the roads they’re on do not connect our communities to the resources they need to thrive, like [affordable]( child, elder, and disability care; jobs, higher pay, and benefits for care workers; and paid family and medical leave. Now is the time to make historic investments in our care economy. Please take a moment to write to your members of Congress and urge them to do everything in their power to ensure resources for caregiving are included in the Build Back Better Act. [Sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators and representative: Pass the Build Back Better Act with investments for the care economy intact.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos Daily Kos Relies on Readers Like You We don't have billionaire backers like some right-wing media outlets.
