Pass the Build Back Better Act to make historic investments in fighting climate change.]( [Sign and send the petition]( This week is the deadline for U.S. House committees to finalize what stays—and what goes—in the Build Back Better Act, as corporate lobbyists like ExxonMobil [fight hard]( to escape liability for fixing a mess that they created. The Build Back Better Act's climate components include new clean energy programs, tax incentives, and grants; new polluters fees; coastal resiliency programs; investments in combating drought and wildfire; and incentives for weatherization and green electrification. The plan also includes a jobs program called the Civilian Climate Corps (modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps from the New Deal) that was left out of the bipartisan infrastructure plan. This may be our last best opportunity to fight climate change. Some politicians groan about the cost of the plan. But with fires ravaging California, floods and hurricanes hitting the East Coast and South, and record triple-digit temperatures across the country, we must ask these politicians: [what is the cost of doing nothing](?
