Friend, It is critical that we pass the For the People Act before the Senate breaks for recess. Here

Friend, [sign and send the petition to U.S. senators: The Senate must not leave for August recess without passing the For the People Act.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( It is critical that we pass the For the People Act before the Senate breaks for recess. Here's what's at stake: - If the voter protections and democracy reforms in the For the People Act do not go into law soon, the 2022 midterm elections will be held under the current election regulations of each state -- including the 30 voter suppression laws passed just this year. - On August 16th, states will get the census data they need to begin redistricting. Without the anti-gerrymandering measures in the For the People Act, GOP-controlled legislatures can draw legislative districts that allow them to rig elections for the next 10 years. Our democracy is under attack at every level: states passing anti-voter laws, members of Congress providing cover for the violent insurrectionists who attacked the Capitol, and even more evidence that the former president planned to overthrow a fair and free election. Recess can wait! Our senators cannot and MUST not leave D.C. until they pass the For the People Act. [Sign and send the petition: Recess can wait; our democracy can't. The Senate MUST protect our freedom to vote NOW.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Despite the gridlock in Congress, the majority of American voters support the For the People Act and want transparent elections we can trust, equal freedom to vote, and to have a say in issues like health care, jobs and education, without being drowned out by wealthy donors. Unfortunately, right now having the true freedom to vote depends heavily on where you live. Thirty voter suppression laws have passed in state legislatures this year alone, and similar attacks are coming. State lawmakers have been on the front lines defending our access to the ballot. They've fought relentlessly, like the Texas state lawmakers who fled the state under threat of arrest to secure Texans' freedom to vote. But we cannot out-organize voter suppression. We cannot win with a piecemeal, state-by-state defense. To restore order and strengthen our democracy we need federal-level voting protections. [Sign and send the petition to U.S. senators: It's crunch time. You MUST pass the For the People Act before breaking for recess.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Our senators have a duty to defend our democracy now. The Senate cannot and must not leave for recess until they get the job done and pass the For the People Act immediately.
