Friend, thanks to Mitch McConnell, Trump was able to seat three conservative justices to the Supreme

Friend, thanks to Mitch McConnell, Trump was able to seat three conservative justices to the Supreme Court during his administration -- tipping the balance of the court for generations to come. McConnell has already stated that if he gets the majority back, and an opening appears on the Supreme Court, then he will ask his fellow Republican Senators to fall in line and block any nomination that President Biden would put forth. That's why it's up to all of us to deny McConnell a Republican majority in 2022, and also to do everything we can to reduce his power and influence over the Senate by electing more Democratic U.S. senators next year. [Make Mitch McConnell cry: Donate $1 to each of these six Senate Democratic nominee funds in winnable, Republican-held seats to keep and expand our Senate majority in 2022.]( Keep fighting, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer has been on the bench for 27 years and will be celebrating his 83rd birthday this August. When will he retire? He's not sure. Why all the concern? Because Mitch McConnell has already made it clear that if Republicans gain control of the Senate after the 2022 elections, he would [deny]( President Biden the opportunity to appoint a Supreme Court justice replacement. This is exactly what McConnell did following the sudden death of Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016 when President Obama nominated Merrick Garland and refused to bring the nomination up for a vote, completely inventing a "precedent" that Supreme Court vacancies don't get filled in presidential election years. McConnell completely ignored his own rule when Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died in 2020.Trump nominated, and the Republican-controlled Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett to sit on the bench. [As if you needed another reason to help elect more Democrats in 2022, if Mitch McConnell has his way, the Supreme Court would become even more conservative than it currently is. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $1 to each of these six Senate Democratic nominee funds to beat Republicans and expand our Senate majority in 2022.]( All the money donated to these funds will be held in escrow until Democratic primary voters in each state pick candidates for Senate. Then, all the collected donations will be transferred to the Democratic nominee in one fell swoop as soon as they win their primary. This will give our candidates a huge cash infusion at a time when they'll need it most and set them up to take back Republican seats and expand our Senate majority in 2022. The 2022 Senate map looks good for the Blue Team on paper. Democrats are defending just 14 seats to the Republicans' 20, and several Republican incumbents have already announced their retirement. Three of those departures come from competitive states—North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania—and more GOP senators may yet announce their retirements in other swing states. However, in a midterm election with an incumbent Democratic president, we can take nothing for granted or we could end up with another 2010- or 2014-style wipeout. [Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans have been perfectly honest about their intentions: Stop President Biden and Democrats on every issue, all the time, even going as far as denying the President the opportunity to nominate the next Supreme Court justice. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $1 to each of these six Senate Democratic nominee funds to beat Republicans and expand our Senate majority in 2022.]( Keep fighting, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
