Friend, as Democrats return to D.C. from their July 4 recess, they must be ready to go as big as they can on the budget resolution for Biden’s American Families and Jobs Plan. [Sign and send the petition to all House and Senate Democrats: Keep infrastructure package big. We’ll have your back if you do.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Moderate and progressive Democrats are still [at odds]( over the scope and size of the bill. A difference of over $2 trillion is on the line, so we must ensure that when our members of Congress return from recess, they have letters flooding their inbox in favor of a big, bold bill. The infrastructure bill may be our only chance this session to fight climate change, expand health care and child care, and create a path to citizenship. These priorities can't wait, and going big on the budget resolution is our best hope at getting things done. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic senators and representative: We must Build Back Better. Go big on the budget resolution.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( In solidarity, Sarah Hogg, Daily Kos P.S. Below, you can read an email from my colleague Paul Hogarth with more details about the budget resolution. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign and send the petition to your Democratic member(s) of the House and Senate: Go big on the budget resolution you are drafting this week. We'll have your back if you do.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( As you read this, Democrats leaders in Congress are drafting the budget resolution that will determine the maximum size of the primary legislative vehicle for Joe Biden's signature policy: Build Back Better. This is the legislation that will determine how much we invest in the fight against climate change, in expanding Medicare and the Affordable Care Act, in making paid family and medical leave a reality, and so much more Democrats will complete the draft of this resolution by the end of the week. Crucially, for both political and procedural reasons, once this resolution is drafted, the size of the bill can only decrease, not increase. As such, the maximum size of Build Back Better is literally being determined this week. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic member(s) of the House and Senate: Go big on the budget resolution you are drafting this week. We'll have your back if you do.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( There is as much as $3,000,000,000,000 dollars in public investment at stake. Progressives in Congress are pushing for a six trillion dollar budget reconciliation bill, which requires only a simple majority to pass the U.S. Senate, to be included in the budget resolution. More moderate Democrats are aiming to whittle that number down to three trillion, or even less. $3,000,000,000,000 can go a long, long way. We are talking about things like $500 billion in green public works, universal child care, a permanent extension of the child tax credit, adding dental, hearing and vision coverage to Medicare, and lowering the eligibility age of Medicare to 60. This is a lot of the stuff we have been fighting for DECADES, and whether or not we have a real shot of making it happen this decade happens THIS WEEK. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic member(s) of the House and Senate: Go big on the budget resolution you are drafting this week. We'll have your back if you do.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
