Friend, it's been a grueling, isolating year. Now that I am fully vaccinated, I am looking forward to the upcoming holiday weekend--and I bet you are, too. That's why I wanted to follow up on Michael's email, which you can read below. Historically, donations to Daily Kos crater over Memorial Day weekend. This year, with so many people getting vaccinated and COVID cases dropping to a point where normalcy is within reach, we are expecting the amount we receive next weekend to plummet. That's why we are hoping to reach our May fundraising goal by the end of the week, before everyone turns away from their screens and heads outside. [We need to raise $55,879 in the next four days. Can you help by donating $5 to Daily Kos now?]( Thanks for all you do, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos --------------------------------------------------------------- Daily Kos needs your help, friend. We are currently $88,786 away from our monthly goal. Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal—we're barely two-thirds of the way through the month, right? Wrong. Memorial Day is just over a week away and donations crater during the holiday weekend. For good reason, of course—I know I'll be enjoying the long weekend!—but that gives us just seven days to make up the difference and close the books on May. That's why what I'm about to ask you is so important: [Daily Kos relies on readers and activists like you to make ends meet. We don't have big corporate sponsors or billionaire backers propping us up—our biggest source of income is everyday people donating just a few bucks at a time. Right now, we're $88,786 away from our monthly goal. Can you donate $5 to help us close the books on May?]( Thank you, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Contributions to Daily Kos are not tax deductible. (Please note that we may be slow to process checks during the coronavirus outbreak.) Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
