Friend, senators and representatives are headed to their home districts this weekend for the first Congressional recess of this term. This recess is the perfect time for us, as constituents, to demand a plan of action for holding the toxic Trump White House accountable. February 18 - 26, we need to mobilize a critical mass of people to storm elected officials' district offices, local events and town halls to show Congress in no uncertain terms that we will not sit idly by and let fascists take over our nation. We can't do it alone. [Sign up here to host a Resistance Recess event in your town. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Create a New Event." We will give you support, tips, and help recruit people to join you.]( [If you can't host an event, please chip in $5 to help Daily Kos build a strong movement to resist Trump.]( We're barely a month into this presidency and every day brings a new scandal, a new broken law, and even more resolve from passionate constituents who won't back down. Congressional Democrats will hear our demand for them to block every awful thing from this White House. We will not stop pressuring Republicans until they break ranks with this regime. Resistance is crucial. On Wednesday Andy Puzder, Trump's anti-worker [wage thieving]( pick for Labor Secretary, [withdrew]( his nomination under pressure from constituents and the media. After mass protests, the xenophobic Muslim travel ban is on hold. It is our duty to raise our voices in opposition to this madness. It's imperative that more of us step into leadership. [Sign up here to host a Resistance Recess event in your town. We will absolutely help you make it a success.]( [If you can't host an event, please chip in $5 to help Daily Kos build a strong movement to resist Trump.]( Keep fighting, Irna Landrum, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
