Friend, the Republican assault on voting rights is getting more and more cruel by the day. State leg

Friend, the Republican assault on voting rights is getting more and more cruel by the day. State legislatures are advancing bills that would make it a crime to give water to people standing in line to vote, mail absentee ballots if people haven't specifically requested them, and to assist folks voting from out of state (like students or military personnel). These voter suppression bills are rolling out at a staggering rate--we're now up to 361 bills in 47 states! The For the People Act will not only stem the tide of these attacks, but also strengthen voting rights across the country, expand access to the ballot, and get big money out of politics so our elected leaders serve us and not the corporations bankrolling them. Call Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand at (202) 224-4451 and Senator Charles E. Schumer at (202) 224-6542. Urge them to pass the For the People Act immediately. Here is a sample message you can leave: Hello, my name is SAY YOUR FIRST NAME SAY YOUR LAST NAME calling from 10016 in New York. The right to vote is at the very heart of democracy. We must tackle voter suppression and limit the power of big money in our politics. Please pass S.1, the For the People Act, immediately. Thank you. [Once you have completed your call, click here. Pass HR 1 immediately.]( [SIGN AND SEND THE PETITION]( The For the People Act is a once-in-a-generation democracy reform package, and a racial justice bill. This legislation would end racist gerrymandering that dilutes the political power of Black, brown, and Indigenous communities, as well as provide more inclusive ways to participate in our democracy, not less. The GOP can't win elections based on their outdated ideas, attempts to force their bigotry down the American people's throats, and billions from the same corporations that exploit American workers everyday. They can't stay in power without stealing the power of our votes and they know it. Every voter--regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, time served in jail, religion, ability, and so much more--not only deserve to be heard, but also represented by politicians who will serve their best interests. That's why we need the For the People Act. Call Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand at (202) 224-4451 and Senator Charles E. Schumer at (202) 224-6542. Urge them to pass the For the People Act immediately.
