Friend, Democrats in Congress need to go big, go bold and go green with the upcoming infrastructure

Friend, Democrats in Congress need to go big, go bold and go green with the upcoming infrastructure bill. And they cannot lose sight of that goal. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic members of Congress: We must repair our broken roads & schools, curb climate change & address past injustices.]( [Sign and send the petition]( President Joe Biden is working with Congress to pass a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure bill, and just like the COVID relief package it is absolutely crucial that it be big and comprehensive. While Republicans are welcome to offer good-faith input, Democrats [cannot allow the illusion]( of "bipartisanship" hold us back on addressing our nation's urgent priorities. The infrastructure bill is more than just a nuts-and-bolts package to rebuild our crumbling bridges, roads and schools. It's also about addressing the urgent threat of climate change, and reversing decades of racial discrimination in our transportation policy. The American Rescue Plan passed without a single Republican vote, because they did not show a real interest in truly tackling the COVID crisis. Democrats must stick together and push for a major infrastructure bill, which may or may not get support from the other party. Our problems are too big and the moment too urgent to let politics get into the way. [Sign and send the petition to your Democrats in the House and Senate: Infrastructure bill must be big, bold, transformative and green. We are counting on you.]( [Sign and send the petition]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos P.S. Here is an email we sent you last week about this. --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, [sign and send the petition to your Democratic members of Congress: The federal infrastructure bill must be big, bold and green.]( [Sign and send the petition]( We must repair our dangerously broken transportation, water, electrical and broadband systems, help the communities most harmed by past failures, and do it all green to help mitigate climate change. The federal infrastructure bill that Congress will take up next is more than a nuts-and-bolts package to fix our bridges, roads and schools. It is an environmental necessity against the looming threat of climate change, and a [civil rights issue](. That's why it must be big, bold, transformational and green. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi [has instructed committee chairs]( in Congress to start drafting it with such guidance, but we don't know what the ultimate package will look like. [Sign and send the petition: The federal infrastructure bill needs to address the daunting challenges facing us. That's why it can't be watered down.]( [Sign and send the petition]( Congress passed a successful COVID relief bill because they did not allow GOP threats or bad-faith negotiations to derail the delivery of a strong package for the American people. The same principles need to apply when it comes to infrastructure. Republicans are welcome to be part of the conversation and offer input on what needs to be included in the infrastructure bill, but we cannot lose sight of what challenges lie ahead. Further if Republicans refuse to be part of a constructive process, Senate Democrats must be willing to go through reconciliation or change rules on the filibuster to make this a reality. Bridges are crumbling, schools are broken, communities have been left behind, and we need to invest in green technology. That (and more) is why we need to pass a strong infrastructure bill. [Sign and send the petition to your Democratic members of Congress: Federal infrastructure bill must be big, bold and green to meet the enormous challenges we face.]( [Sign and send the petition]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos Daily Kos Relies on Readers Like You We don't have billionaire sugar daddies like some right-wing media outlets.
