Friend, Republicans have a clear plan to win this election: Stop people from voting. You don't need to take my word for it. Trump has said openly that he wants to "[get rid of the ballots](." Republican officials like Texas Gov. Greg Abbot have taken [extreme measures]( to make it harder for Americans to vote. And [none of this]( is new. Here's the thing: Beating Trump isn't enough. We need to rip Republican vote-suppressors out by the root. That means taking back offices that oversee our election processes in the states. In many states, including Oregon and Washington, that's the state secretary of state. Both of these blue states elect their secretaries of state in partisan elections. Both are currently held by Republicans. And both are on the ballot next month. That's why I'm writing to you right now. [Restoring our democracy starts with beating Trump, but it doesn't end there. Chip in $3 to each of these Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats for secretary of state and help elect two champions of democracy who will protect our elections from Republican attacks for years to come!]( Thank you, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
