[Friend, there is so much riding on the outcome of this election. We need to have the largest voter turnout in history so there is no question who the winner is on November 3. You can help by giving $5 to Daily Kos so we can meet our goal of recruiting 100,000 volunteers to turn out every single Democratic vote.]( Through our vast email and SMS lists, highly trafficked website, and large social media channels, Daily Kos has a deep reach into the progressive grassroots activist base. In 2020, we are using that reach to recruit a record number of volunteers to help get out the Democratic vote, and connect everyone who signs up with innovative and effective voter turnout platforms, including: - [Vote Forward](: In 2020 alone, over 40,000 Daily Kos volunteers have signed up with Vote Forward to write "please vote" letters to over 1,000,000 infrequent, but strongly Democratic, swing state voters. This is the most popular Daily Kos GOTV activity of all time, and it's no wonder why. You can write however many letters you like, from the safety and comfort of your home, whenever is best for your schedule, and you never have to talk to anyone. Further, studies have shown these "please vote" letters increase turnout by between 1-3%. - [Postcards to Swing States](: Over 14,000 Daily Kos volunteers have signed up with Postcards to Swing States, where they are writing "please vote" postcards to Democratic voters in swing states to be mailed out roughly two weeks before Election Day. The postcards will contain poll-tested messages that are proven to increase voter turnout. - [Power the Polls](: 10,000 Daily Kos volunteers have signed up with Power the Polls, a nonpartisan effort which aims to make sure that every polling place in America has adequate staffing. Seniors typically make up the bulk of poll workers, but with the COVID-19 pandemic many are staying home this year. Without enough poll workers, many voters could face long lines, or even that the polling place near them is closed. Power the Polls aims to make sure that doesn't happen, and Daily Kos volunteers are signing up in droves to help them out. - Turnout2020: Through [Turnout Tuesday](, [Turnout Thursday]( and [Swing Saturday]( events, over the past three months over 5,000 Daily Kos volunteers with Turnout 2020 have been calling Democratic voters in swing states like Texas, Arizona, Michigan and Pennsylvania to help them request absentee ballots. No one should have to choose between their health and exercising their right to vote, so our volunteers walk voters through the process of requesting an absentee ballot. - [Mobilize America](: Through Mobilize America, Daily Kos has been able to connect over 5,000 volunteers with GOTV events organized by hundreds of Demcoratic campaigns and progressive organizations. This includes over 1,000 volunteers each with [NextGen's]( textbanking program to help young, progressive voters in 11 swing states vote-by-mail, and the [Biden-Harris campaign's]( national phone banking program to voters in swing states. - Fair Fight: Last weekend, over 1,000 Daily Kos volunteers [teamed up with Fight Fight Action](, a voter mobilization organization founded by Stacy Abrams, to mobilize the vote in Georgia through texting and phone banking. Polls show Georgia could flip to Joe Biden in 2020 AND Democrats could pick up TWO additional Senate seats if we can turn out the vote in the Peach State. - [Mobilize to Win with MoveOn](: Nearly 1,000 Daily volunteers have signed up with MoveOn's Mobilize to Win program. This unique peer-to-peer effort helps volunteers identify friends and family members who live in battleground states, and then to help those folks commit to vote against both Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell's Republican Senate majority. [With 47 days left till Election Day, we have already recruited nearly 60,000 total volunteers, with many volunteers signing up for more than one GOTV program! However, we still have so much work ahead of us to reach our goal of 100,000 volunteers. Recruiting volunteers costs us real money, and as a grassroots funded organization we can only go as far as you take us. Help Daily Kos recruit more volunteers and turnout every single Democratic vote by giving $5 TODAY.]( Keep fighting, Chris Bowers Executive Campaign Director, Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
