Friend, Trump's Postmaster General has hampered the U.S. Postal Service so severely that some Americans are receiving their critical medications late. In other cases, vital agricultural products have been delayed, causing many farmers to suffer. In response, this past Saturday, Americans sent a loud message in support of the U.S. Postal Service. Thousands of people joined rallies across the country calling for all postal service operations to be fully restored to pre-COVID levels and demanding that Postmaster General Louis DeJoy resign for his gross mishandling of the constitutionally-protected service. At the same time, the U.S. House of Representatives convened a [special session]( to address the Trump-created crisis in the postal service. All Democrats and 26 Republicans joined together to pass emergency legislation that included $25 billion in funding for the USPS and a reversal of all changes to service made under Postmaster General DeJoy. Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate Republicans have no plans to bring this bipartisan bill up for a vote. As of right now, the Senate isn't even scheduled to return to Washington until [September 8](. When they do finally return, their first vote will be to confirm yet another Trump-nominated judge, not address the much needed COVID-19 economic relief or the unraveling of the U.S. Postal service. It's clear that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans see no urgency to address the multiple crises that the American people are currently facing. As always, they will only take action when there is a massive political price to pay for inaction. So, it's time to make them pay that price. [Republicans are in serious danger of losing the Senate majority this fall. But we don't have to wait till Election Day to let Republicans know where we stand; we can send them a message TODAY by supporting their Democratic Senate challengers. I'm asking you to chip in $1 to each of these seven Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats right now so Republicans understand there's a price to pay for doing nothing.]( Keep fighting, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
