Friend, they did it. Just one day after the government confirmed that the economy had shrunk by an [unbelievable 32.9%]( annual rate last quarter, Republican nihilists in the Senate allowed expanded unemployment benefits to expire. They had months to take action. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats sent them a bill in May. Mitch McConnell just decided not to act. I have no words for this callousness and gross incompetence. Only anger. Republicans only seem to take action when they think there's a price to pay for inaction. Okay then: Let's make them pay. [Republicans hold a slim 53-47 majority in the Senate. Twenty-three of those Republicans are in seats up for election this fall. We need to net at least three seats to take a majority, and the Daily Kos endorsements team has identified the races most likely to flip the majority from red to blue. That's why I'm asking you to chip in $1 to each of these five Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats and nominee funds right now.]( Thank you, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
