Friend, our pressure on Republican U.S. Senators to pass another pandemic relief bill is beginning to show results. After first claiming there was "no urgency" to passing additional COVID-19 relief, #MoscowMitch came under fire from members of his own caucus for refusing to do anything while the country suffers. Now he is changing his tune, recently admitting that the Senate [will "likely"]( have to take more action. [Sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators, demanding they support the COVID-19 relief bill passed by the U.S. House.]( [Sign and send the petition]( It has been nearly two weeks that the House passed a $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill that would [greatly help]( those who need it the most. However, at first Donald Trump & Senate Republicans refused to even consider this bill, calling the critical aid it provides "dead on arrival." Now, with the death toll exceeding 100,000 & with millions more Americans out of work, Republicans are feeling the pressure to act. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell [acknowledges]( the Senate will take up some additional aid - saying "It ought to be very carefully targeted to correct the mistakes that we certainly made … There are some other needs that need to be met." Of course, the devil is in the details. McConnell still [has not committed]( to when additional aid would happen—or how much—but it's significant that he admitted earlier efforts were lacking. It makes it all that more important that we keep putting pressure on the U.S. Senate. [Sign and send the petition to your U.S. senators: We demand real coronavirus relief. Take up the H.E.R.O.E.S. Act which the House passed, and pass it into law immediately.]( [Sign and send the petition]( Keep fighting, Paul Hogarth, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
