Now is the time to ensure that the next stimulus package prioritizes workers over corporations and greedy executives. Workers and their families cannot continue to suffer while big corporations and rich executives and investors rake in bailouts. It is imperative that the House centers workers in the next COVID-19 stimulus package by including Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s proposal for a Paycheck Guarantee Act in the bill. The Paycheck Guarantee Act would cover 100% of wages for workers earning salaries up to $100,000 for at least three months and keep workers enrolled in employer-sponsored benefits while workplaces are closed for safety reasons during the pandemic.
