Friend, [sign the petition: Trump is lying about coronavirus. Networks must stop airing his press conferences live.]( [Sign the petition]( Donald Trump holds almost daily press briefings from the White House about how the federal government is handling the coronavirus epidemic. And repeatedly, he says things that are not true—misinforming & misleading the public during a time of crisis. It is time for the national press to [stop airing]( these propaganda lies live. [Sign the petition to CNN, NPR, FOX & all other media outlets: Stop broadcasting Trump's press briefings live during a crisis where accurate information is essential.]( [Sign the petition]( On March 19, Trump claimed that chloroquine—a drug typically used to treat malaria—had been approved by the FDA to treat COVID-19, and would be available "almost immediately." The Food & Drug Administration had to [quickly correct]( the record. He also said on March 13 that we would [have 1.4 million tests]( for coronavirus available "next week," and 5 million by mid-April. Ten days later, we are only at [approximately 250,000](— a mere quarter of a million tested. Earlier, Trump had claimed that Google was developing a website that would make it easier to determine if you needed to be tested—and where the testing location was. [That was false](. Moreover, Trump [continues to contradict]( what leading health experts are advising—giving the public a false sense of security, and likely exacerbating the spread of coronavirus. [Sign the petition: What Trump is doing is actively dangerous to fighting the spread of coronavirus. The media must be critical, and stop broadcasting his press briefings live.]( [Sign the petition]( What Trump is doing, said MSNBC's [Rachel Maddow]( is “cruel, and harmful, needlessly diverting and wildly irresponsible from anyone in any leadership role … These daily briefings from the White House, If it were up to me—and it’s not—I would stop putting those briefings on live TV. Not out of spite, but because it’s misinformation." The national media is doing a huge disservice by broadcasting these press conferences live, allowing Donald Trump to spew his fake propaganda to the general public. If he says something that is true, the media could always report it later after the fact. But live broadcasts of Trump's lies are dangerous, as doctors & nurses put their lives on the line every day to fight the spread of this virus. [Click to AUTOMATICALLY sign the petition to all major broadcasting stations: Stop airing Donald Trump's press conferences on COVID-19 live.]( [Click to AUTOMATICALLY sign the petition]( Our message to all major broadcasters: Donald Trump has used his White House press briefings to lie about the coronavirus epidemic, painting an inaccurate rosy picture of the situation that misinforms the public. We are in a crisis, and his lies are actively harming people. You must act like responsible journalists and refuse to air his press conferences live.
