Friend, after winning renomination in 2018 by a narrow 51%-49% margin, conservative “Democratic” Congressman Dan Lipinski is facing one of the toughest primaries of his career. He isn't taking it well. Lipinksi recently [sent out a mailer]( to his district that reads like it was written by a Republican. It starts off by lashing out at his opponent, Daily Kos-endorsed candidate Marie Newman, by calling her a "far-left extremist". He acknowledges that the district leans heavily towards Democrats, but is afraid of her being a "radical progressive." [Daily Kos is proud to support strong Democrats, like Marie Newman in Illinois and Jessica Cisneros in Texas, who are running primary challenges against conservative “Democratic” incumbents. We don't just work to elect more Democrats, we work to elect BETTER democrats. Chip in $3 each to Marie Newman and Jessica Cisneros today.]( Lipinski goes on to criticize Newman for supporting "so-called Medicare for All …. which would eliminate Medicare all together." This is just a flat-out lie. Lipinski then calls Newman out for being endorsed by "socialist" congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, "also known as AOC". He goes on to slam Newman for supporting "AOC's extreme Green New Deal", which supposedly would take your cars and airplanes away "within ten years." and make you "radically upgrade" your home or tear it down. Ridiculous! There is actually one thing Lipinski gets right in the letter; in 2018 Newman came within 2,300 votes of defeating him. In 2020, with more name recognition, a stronger campaign, and national grassroots support, Newman can finally defeat Lipinski in the primary on March 17. [Help Marie Newman finally oust this so-called "Democrat" by giving her campaign $3. We need Democrats that will stand up for our values, not push Republican talking points and lies.]( Keep fighting, Amanda McKay, Daily Kos P.S. Take a look for yourself, here's the letter, it's a doozy: Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
