Friend, quick follow-up to Joan's email: Virginians go to the polls in less than two months to elect

Friend, quick follow-up to Joan's email: Virginians go to the polls in less than two months to elect a new a new state legislature. All 140 seats in the House and Senate are on the ballot, and Democrats need to net gain just two seats in each chamber to take majorities in both. This would be a huge victory for Democrats, who would finally have the power to enact gun safety measures, and the NRA is very nervous. [The NRA's huge donation to Virginia Republicans is a sign of how scared they are—and how close we are to taking back the legislature. Daily Kos has endorsed six candidates running for state legislature this year, and we can flip Virginia from red to blue if we win them. Can you chip $1 to each of these Democrats now?]( Thank you, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, the Virginia legislature is just four seats away from flipping to Democrats this year. We need to net just two seats in the House of Delegates and two in the Senate to take control of both chambers, and we're not the only ones aware of this potentially momentous shift. So are the bad guys. [The NRA has just dropped a staggering $200,000 donation into Republican House Majority Leader Todd Gilbert's political action committee. From there, he'll launder the NRA's blood money by giving it to fellow Republicans trying to hold the House. We can't let that happen. Please chip in $1 to each these six Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats running to flip red seats blue this November.]( This is by far the single biggest donation the NRA has ever made to Virginia Republicans. That means it's a sign of extreme panic. But the NRA knows it's money well spent: After 12 people were massacred in Virginia Beach on May 31, Virginia's Democratic governor called the legislature into a special session so that it could pass new safety measures. Republicans leaders, however, stayed true to their paymasters at the NRA: They gaveled out the session after just 90 minutes, without taking any action. But we can counter the NRA's blood money with true grassroots support. If we turn Virginia's legislature blue, Democrats will be able to pass the gun safety legislation the state desperately needs to address this crisis. [Give now to turn Virginia blue!]( Keep fighting, Joan McCarter, Daily Kos Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612. Sent via [ActionNetwork.org](.
