But it is so much more than that, with a staff that is dedicated to diving deep into the issues that Democrats and progressives everywhere care about. From immigration, to health care, to the environment, to social justice, to the machinations of the Trump administration and its Republican enablers, along with the role of the traditional media in all this, the editorial team works every day to bring information and perspective to its readers across the country. [Daily Kos was founded as a blog and has grown into a progressive news media movement builder. The staff works tirelessly to breakdown the news and provide tools to make real change. The entire Daily Kos editorial team works to bring context to the news that people won’t find if they’re relying just on the traditional media. Beyond covering the stories that dominate the headlines, it also covers the daily grind of the news, both good and bad. And while in the aftermath of the 2016 election, it seemed that the news was uniformly bad, since the 2018 blue wave, we’ve seen the return of the gavel to Nancy Pelosi, a new generation of progressive Democrats dominated by women of color that is energizing the party—and the entire editorial team–as we see not only a return of oversight, but a return of lawmakers dedicated to doing the people’s work.
