Believe it or not, this will be the final fundraising email Daily Kos sends before Election Day. From here on out, it's all about Getting Out The Vote. The focus on Congress up until now is understandable, and it was the right place to concentrate on earlier in the year because putting a check on Trump is vital. But now, the race for Congress has left some key non-federal races—campaigns for governor, attorney general, secretary of state, and state legislature—ignored and underfunded, and these races could have enormous consequences for years to come. [This will be the last time we ask: Can you chip in $1 to each of these Daily Kos-endorsed Democrats running at the state level?]( You have been amazing through this election. Now let's win this thing. Thank you for everything you've done, Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos --------------------------------------------------------------- DAVID'S EMAIL: Dear Daily Kos reader, there are just a few days left to win this election, and I want to take a moment to explain where I think your final contributions can make the most difference: - Democratic candidates for Congress have obliterated fundraising records. On top of that, well-funded outside groups on both sides are flooding must-win districts with ads and mailers. There's simply no way Daily Kos readership can compete with the money being spent in congressional races these last few days. - Democrats running further down ballot are still lagging behind Republicans financially. These races—including campaigns for governor, secretary of state, attorney general and state legislature—have gone under the radar for most of the year, and one report shows Republican maintain a [five to one]( advantage over Democrats in key state legislative races. - Campaigns can still spend money they raise effectively, but time is running short. Money raised today and tomorrow can boost digital ad campaigns, rent vans to shuttle voters to the polls, and more. But campaigns only have a day or two at most to finalize these plans. The most important races you can contribute to right now are down ballot races. [Daily Kos has endorsed more than two dozen down ballot campaigns this year. We've specifically picked non-federal candidates who are strong progressives and whose races could have major national implications.
