Hey, our work here at Daily Kos has never been as important as it is right now. [As Chris mentioned in his email below, we are fighting the Trump administration on multiple fronts. We didn't plan to expend so many resources trying to save the Supreme Court — and now maybe trying to save the Mueller investigation too — heading into a critical election. Can you $5 today?]( We need to defeat his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh. Not only has Kavanaugh lied during his confirmation hearings, but now there are multiple accusations of sexual assault. This man could sit on the highest court in the nation for decades and decide cases that affect women, immigrants, civil rights and voting access for generations to come. We need to do everything we can prevent his confirmation. This is all happening while the midterm elections are just six weeks away. Just like the battle for Supreme Court, there is a lot riding on the outcome of the November elections. We have an opportunity to oust Trump's GOP enablers and finally have control to expose all his corruption. [But we will only succeed with your help. Give $5 today so we can fight Trump on all fronts.]( Keep Fighting, Amanda McKay --------------------------------------------------------------- Friend, last night, [a second woman]( stepped forward to accuse Trump Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of assault and there are already reports that a third may do so. Republicans have been rushing through a phony confirmation process since day one in order to confirm Kavanaugh before the election. They papered over his extremist record, stonewalled the release of the vast majority of his documents, and ignored that he was caught lying five times to the Senate Judiciary Committee. Any one of these things should have disqualified Kavanaugh, but Senate Republicans plowed forward and hand-waved away any criticism in the press. We cannot let them dismiss the charges these women have brought forward as they dismissed other parts of Kavanaugh's record. We're running two major campaigns right now: One to stop Kavanaugh, and another to win in November. This has put enormous strain on our campaigns team, and we didn't budget for two major campaigns like this. [Can you please chip in $5 to help offset the cost of our campaign to stop Kavanaugh?]( Chances are, you've missed most of our work to stop Kavanaugh. We've encouraged Daily Kos readers everywhere to contact their senators, but our campaign has been intensely focused on a handful of states with undecided senators: Indiana, North Dakota and West Virginia (all red states where Democrats running for reelection this year have not yet come out against Kavanaugh), and most especially Alaska and Maine, the home states of undecided Republicans Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins. These are small states, but the intense campaigns we're running have major results: For example, we have driven Daily Kos readers in Maine to call her office at least 2,968 times. (I say "at least" because that's how many Mainers we've gotten to make these calls and then report back to us on how the calls went. Because not everyone who makes a call goes on to fill out the report back form, the actual number of calls we've generated to Susan Collins may be much higher.) Thousands more have written letters—many, more than once. That's tens of thousands of messages we're driving to Collins' offices in DC and Maine. Now, we need to expand this campaign to put this sort of intense pressure on all Republicans. Even Republicans who already support Kavanaugh—and especially those who've shamefully attacked Dr. Christine Blasey Ford for stepping forward—need to come under major constituent pressure. We need to make them understand that Americans nationwide are outraged and they will not accept this nomination. [Please chip in $5 now to offset the cost of this campaign.]( Keep fighting, Chris Bowers, Executive Campaigns Director Daily Kos If you wish to donate by mail instead, please send a check to Daily Kos, PO Box 70036, Oakland, CA, 94612.
